Through the Cash for Cancer Lottery, the community has accomplished an amazing feat.

With more than $20 million donated, the Cash for Cancer Lottery represents the largest single contribution to the R.S. McLaughlin Durham Regional Cancer Centre. Its unprecedented success can be attributed to the generosity of people like you. We believe in maximizing the value of each donation and realized early on that such a commitment meant doing all the work in-house in lieu of delegating it to high-priced lottery consultants. Local businesses also have a large role in the Lottery’s success. We are blessed with a charitable community filled with philanthropic minds. Much of our success is due to contributions of expertise and time not to mention prize donations and use of venues within the community. We continue to enjoy an excellent relationship with many, many business partners.

Of course, the individual ticket holders are also the visionaries that make Cash for Cancer work. I believe that every ticket bought for this fundraiser has a name attached – the name of a loved one that is touched by this horrible disease. And the biggest win for all of those names now stands at One Hospital Court where cancer patients can receive the very best in care that medicine and technology has to offer, all within their own community.
